| My grandparents purchased this laptop for me for graduation and my birthday, and So far its pretty cool. This is my first vista machine, and I'm acually liking it. My grandparents purchased it from a retailer (Offic Depot) and it came with Norton for 60 days, Microsoft Offic student, and some other software. I can't wait to use the free upgrade to Windows 7 too. So far, So good... |

| So I just received my Compaq laptop today and it's amazing. Fast, no lag, bright screen, works great. I've installed Google Chrome and AIM and they work flawless. The keypad is amazingly comfortable. No webcam and the HDMI slot is covered which aren't a big deal for me. I don't see why people give this laptop such a bad review, but I've only been playing with it for 3 hours so more on this review in the future. |

I purchased this laptop for my parents who use it for online bill pay, surfing the web, Facebook and the like. We got a great price here at Amazon.com and couldn't be happier with the laptop. I purchased based on cost and was a little nervous based on the mixed reviews, but the laptop has exceeded my expectations. I especially like the extended keyboard with full numeric key pad -- a nice feature that I have not seen on any other laptop.
This is not a top-of-the line tricked out computer, but if you're looking for an internet surfing/bill pay device you should be very pleased. |

Pros:
This is a very, very good computer for the price. I bought mine factory direct and added a dual core processor, and the performance is great. It is relatively light. The hard disk transfer speed is as good as my older desktop which is a higher RPM drive. It has a discrete nvidia graphics card (256mb) a separate key pad. It has a very nice, big, widescreen. And I got all this for less than $400!!! Can't be beat.
Cons:
Look at buying an upgraded battery. Glossy cover and touch pad collect enough fingerprints to convict you in any court. :) Slightly bendy design. |
Perfect for household use

| My first laptop, and I couldn't be more pleased.Fast downloads and large screen are two features that I like.I use the AC cord ,so the short battery life (2hrs) isn't a factor for me.Good price, great value for the money!Full size keyboard as well. |
