GOOD PRODUCT BUT...couple of things could improve.

Overall good quality, solid built although a bit on the heavy side.
Good service: had a problem with the DVD port and it was replaced promptly at no charge (and it was overseas !!)
The same happened with a previous laptop (M35X). Failure of hard disk in the first week of use and inmediately replaced (overseas too. Important for me because I travel a lot). That's why I stick to Toshiba despite the malfunctions: Good Service.
(any product of any brand can fail, the question is what service will you get in that event).
Negative points:
Display: with this resolution and the NVidia card it is almost impossible to find a suitable resolution. Either tiny aspects, almost unreadable, with super-large resolution or a mix of too big and small aspects with fuzzy look (lower resolution). Impossible for me to find a compromise (NVidia config + Windows Display-Advanced options). I have tried them ALL and no way.
Fingerprint reader: quits working after a short time of use. I have followed all instructions, clean the slot read the manual etc etc... No way. So I quit using it.
Kind scary that you'd need your machine in a hurry and it won't "recognize" you... (I'm sticking to regular password).
So, the space and expense used in this feature could be better used for more practical alternatives (either that or come up with a good product/technology for this feature). |
